WEB PRIVACY POLICY

Women in International Trade Orange County ("WITOC" or "we") is committed to ensuring the privacy of its customers and other visitors to its website (the "Site"). We have established this Privacy Policy ("Privacy Policy") to demonstrate our commitment to fair information practices and the protection of your privacy rights.

INFORMATION COLLECTION PRACTICES

TYPES OF INFORMATION COLLECTED

TRAFFIC DATA When you visit our Site, we automatically track and collect the following categories of information: (1) your Internet protocol and domain server address; (2) the date and time of your visit to the Site; (3) the type of web browser and operating system you used to access the Site; (4) the web pages that you accessed at the Site; (5) the visitor domain and country; and (6) the duration of the visit (collectively "Traffic Data"). Traffic Data is anonymous information that does not identify or track you personally. We use Traffic Data to evaluate and improve the content of the Site, to perform export screening, and to make the Site more useful to visitors. We also use it to diagnose problems with our server, to keep our server running smoothly, and to monitor the number of visitors to the Site and the type of technology they use.

COOKIES A "cookie" is a small data file placed on your hard drive by an Internet website server.  WITOC uses "temporary session cookies" to authenticate users and maintain the functionality of other online services. These "temporary cookies" contain no information that could personally identify you, and they exist only for the session in which you visit the Site and are not stored. You can refuse to accept the cookie or delete it from your computer by using any of the widely available methods, but if you do so, you may be unable to purchase products and services from WITOC online or otherwise access some of the interactive features of the Site.

PERSONAL INFORMATION So that you may access services and purchase the products and services that we offer through the Site, we require you to provide us with certain information that personally identifies you ("Personal Information"). The Personal Information we collect presently includes the following information: (1) your name, (2) e-mail address, and (3) name of your company.. If you communicate with us by e-mail or complete online forms or surveys, information provided by you in such communications may also be collected as Personal Information.

USES OF INFORMATION COLLECTED

WITOC'S USE OF INFORMATION

  • E-Commerce WITOC uses Personal Information primarily in connection with e-commerce transactions. Credit card information is encrypted to ensure that no one else can view or capture it. Credit card transactions on the Site are settled immediately through Paypal, one of our e-commerce providers. Paypal handles all traffic between the Site, credit card issuers, and banks. Credit card information is used only for settling the funds needed for you to purchase our services. We do not store credit card information either on or outside the Site.
  • E-Mail Upon registration for WITOC membership or events you will receive email confirmation and communications. Additionally, from time to time, WITOC may send you e mail messages regarding current regulatory or other legal changes and updates or informing you of our services that we believe may be of interest to you, including announcements of new training programs, upcoming programs, and special offers. If you do not wish to receive e-mails from WITOC, please email us at info@witoc.org.

SHARING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION Except as otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy, WITOC does not and will not share any Personal Information regarding WITOC's customers or other Site users with any third parties, unless disclosure is necessary to: (a) comply with a court order or other legal process; (b) protect our rights or property; or (c) enforce our Terms & Conditions. WITOC does not sell, rent, exchange, or loan any Personal Information regarding its customers or other Site users to any third parties. For jointly sponsored training programs, WITOC may transmit registration information, including Personal Information, to the joint program sponsor, but only as necessary for administration of the program.

USER CHOICE REGARDING COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION You may choose not to provide us with any Personal Information. If so, you will be able to access and use some portions of the Site, but you will not be able to purchase WITOC services or access those parts of the Site that require you to Sign In using your personal User ID and password. SECURITY OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

WITOC has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of Personal Information under our control. These security measures include a firewall to prevent unauthorized access to our systems and maintenance of registration information on a server inaccessible to the public. Although WITOC exercises reasonable care in providing secure transmission of information between your computer and our servers, WITOC cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information transmitted to us over the Internet and accepts no liability for any unintentional disclosure. WITOC protects the transmission of credit card information through industry standard SSL (secure socket layer) encryption. [STILL A CONCERN AS TO SERVICE PROVIDER'S SECURITY MEASURES]

UPDATE, AND CORRECT PERSONAL INFORMATION

The Personal Information we collect is saved in a customer profile in our web service provider's secure database server. You can help us maintain the accuracy of your profile by notifying us whenever you change your company affiliation, address, telephone number, or e-mail address. We maintain a procedure to help you confirm that your Personal Information remains correct and up-to-date.

LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES

The Site contains links to other websites. WITOC is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of any other websites to which the Site links. This Privacy Policy is applicable only to the Site and not to any other websites that you may be able to access from the Site, each of which may have data collection, storage, and use practices and polices that differ materially from this Privacy Policy.

ACCEPTANCE OF PRIVACY POLICY

Your use of our Site, including any dispute concerning privacy, is subject to this Privacy Policy and the Terms & Conditions. By using our site, you are accepting all of the provisions of this Privacy Policy.

UPDATES AND CHANGES TO PRIVACY POLICY

WITOC reserves the right, at any time and without notice to you, to add to, change, update, or modify this Privacy Policy, simply by posting such change, update, or modification on the Site. Any such change, update, or modification will be effective immediately upon posting on the Site. If updated, the Privacy Policy will note the effective date of the update. Please check the effective date at the top of this page to determine if the policy has been modified since you last reviewed it. Your continued use of any portion of our Site following posting of the updated Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
